I agree with Gail and I suggest revamping the website to make it easier and more inviting to order the book. Also, I would not give a sneak preview of the book until you get their name and email information.

Once you get your prospect's contact information, you can use an autoresponder and send them articles and content that promote your book.

Take a look at best selling author, Mark Hyman MD's squeeze page for his book:

http://www.ultrametabolism.com/prlarticle1

You can then promote this squeeze page by writing a 500-750 word article and submitting it to the top sites, ezines and directories that accept articles within your topic.

I recently wrote an article on how to promote your book using articles, which can be found here:

As a professional organizer I see a number of individuals that struggle with anxiety. There is a group called the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (www.nsgcd.org) The organization has teleclasses that are offered to Professional Organizers and other related professionals (doctors, therapists, counselors, etc.) Check out the site and contact the program director. They may be interested in you conducting one of the teleseminars.

Also, consider communicating to the number of professional organizers that are members of the National Association of Professial Organizers (www.napo.net)

Believing in you!

I see you are based in florida did you have a booth at the Miami Book Festival that just ended?

I talked with many authors there while among the tens of thousands that attend this thing.

I don't know if the booth cost is in your budget but you might consider it but don't go there to sell like most of the authors there.

Most were focused on the sale and not finding a customer. I kept asking for download versions of their book, none had them. Most had piles of books sitting there.

What about laptop with your website highlighted so they could buy online saves you the shipping costs and the cost of buying in lots from your distributor now some will let you send back what you don't sell others won't. But with a laptop your cost are the booth and travel expenses.

With a laptop you could have a video running of one of your speeches. Or pay to have celebs talk about your book then continously run your video while book lovers walk by.

There are tens of other booksellers at this fair, why not offer bonus gift to them to give away when they sell a book. Now you are capturing book lovers that didn't even see your booth.

This fair is absolutely packed with people, man I'm tired sure would be nice have a massage right now to relive the stress of all this. Perfect tie in to your book. Maybe you could have one at your booth for people to use.

Holidays coming up. Target a group that gets real stressed right about now.

No not moms everybody is doing that how about the salespersons working the malls on black friday.
Call it the "Black Friday Stress Relief Book For Overworked Minium Wage Workers" or something like that then give it away only to people that work on Black Friday. Maybe offer to give stress reducing seminars to this group for the stores that will be open.

Seems like this could get some publicity as well.

Find out if your local gym will promote your book to its members. Better yet, speak to the yoga instructors there to see if they'll read it and recommend it. Many people work out at the gym as a great way to reduce anxiety and stress in their lives so you may find an audience there.

I wish I'd had this book a year ago! Sounds great but I'd suggest revamping the website to make it easier and more inviting to order the book. Get a few testimonials on the opening page instead of the first chapter (link to that). Then, if you're comfortable doing presentations, get yourself booked for any all organizations you can - adult ed programs, meetings, etc. and don't limit yourself to meetings of health professionals. They have most of this information - it's the rest of us who need it!

There are a variety of media opportunities with this book. Pitches may be made with a health or lifestyle focus. I envision b-role with women in rushing frenzies exhibiting what we've long called "nervous habits." I'd then offer that reporter someone who has used the book's tips for anxiety reduction to talk about how much better she feels after using these approaches. Another topic may be the title of the book, 'Living Well With Anxiety.' After all, consumers want to know if it's realistic to live WELL with anxiety. Several story ideas abound in Part 2, Holistic Approaches to Anxiety, via health reporters. There are comparisons that may be made between prescribed medications and holistic approaches. From a lifestyle standpoint, Chambers may point out why anxiety keeps us from being the best we can be in the workplace and at home. I could keep going, but I'm getting too stressed out!
