Thanks for sharing, Joan. I tried an infographic on visual.ly, but it was limited in templates. I'll give piktochart a try!

Yep. You really have to pay attention to what you're doing. No TV on in the background. And absolutely no multi-tasking.

It's like that old sewing adage, (or any craft that requires precision) 'measure thrice - cut once'.

Glad I can help, Denise. My best tip: Map out exactly what you want it to look like before you start using the online tool. And look through all the available templates and graphics before you start so you have a good idea of exactly what images are available. My second best tip: Periodically, save your work! Or lose it all like I did.

Your infographic looks great, Joan. You're saving me a ton of time since I'm working on a survey that we want to publish as an infographic. Thanks for sharing your experience with these tools.

Joan,

I see that I got confused by the word "login." Normally that's used when someone has already signed up. The signup page drove me away because it looked like it was for people who already had signed up before.

A good usability lesson here.

You raised valid issue, this happened quite often with me, after reading whole blog thoroughly at the end I came to know that I have to be logged in for commenting… this not only annoys but also prevent user to visit that blog again due to un necessary requirement of sign up.
